Hello, I'm 👋
Introducing Surendra Ghimire, the embodiment of integrity-driven education consulting and community leadership. Founder of Sumedha Education Network and active ECAN member based in Dharan, Nepal.
Founder, Sumedha Education Network (est. 2018) • Member, ECAN (Education Consultancy Association of Nepal)
My journey began in Itahari, where I first recognized the transformative power of education. In 2018, I founded Sumedha Education Network with a simple yet powerful vision: to provide ethical, transparent guidance to students seeking international education opportunities.
Today, our headquarters in Dharan serves as a hub for educational consulting across Nepal. As an active member of ECAN (Education Consultancy Association of Nepal), I work alongside fellow educators to maintain the highest standards of integrity in our field.
My educational background includes an M.A. and LL.B., which provide the foundation for understanding both the academic and legal aspects of international education pathways.
Building bridges between Nepal and the world, one student at a time.
Strategically positioned in Eastern Nepal, serving students across the country while maintaining deep connections to local communities and international education networks.
Sumedha Education Network
Leading ethical education consulting with a focus on transparency, student success, and community impact.
Member, ECAN (Education Consultancy Association of Nepal)
Contributing to industry standards and ethical practices in Nepal's education consultancy sector.
What started as late-night conversations with confused students in 2018 has grown into something I never imagined. Sumedha Education Network wasn't born from a business plan—it emerged from witnessing too many bright minds getting lost in misleading promises and paperwork nightmares.
I've learned that every student's story is different. Some come to us with crystal-clear dreams, others just know they want "something better." My job isn't to sell them a destination—it's to help them figure out where they actually want to go, and then make sure they get there safely.
Ethical, student-first guidance. Est. 2018.
Book a ConsultationTutor or mentor students, volunteer at a school, or donate school supplies.
Participate in a charity run/walk, volunteer at a hospital, or donate blood.
Cook at a soup kitchen, build a community garden, volunteer at a food bank.
Engaging in humanitarian charity has profoundly changed me. From busy cities to remote villages, I've seen resilience and shared humanity, bringing immense joy and fulfillment despite the challenges. It's a reminder of our collective ability to make a difference.
From intimate workshops in Dharan to international conferences, I've had the privilege of speaking to diverse audiences about education, entrepreneurship, and community impact. Each talk is an opportunity to share real experiences and practical insights.

Each destination taught me something different about education, opportunity, and what students really need to succeed abroad.
Spent three weeks in Toronto and Vancouver studying their co-op programs. Learned why practical experience matters more than perfect grades—something I now emphasize with every student I counsel.
Dubai's multicultural campus life opened my eyes to how students adapt across cultures. Met Nepali students thriving in business programs—their stories now guide my counseling approach.
Regular visits to Bangalore and Delhi universities. Witnessed the competitive entrance culture firsthand—helped me understand why alternative pathways matter for Nepali students.
Dhaka's education conferences taught me about regional collaboration. Connected with educators facing similar challenges—reminded me that good guidance transcends borders.
Jakarta's diverse student population showed me how language barriers affect learning. Now I prepare students not just academically, but culturally and linguistically too.
Every education system has its strengths. My job isn't to find the "best" country—it's to find the right fit for each student's goals, personality, and circumstances.
These experiences directly inform how I counsel students today.
